If anybody knows or can refer me to someone who knows how to train young, hyperactive dogs, then please help me with this problem!
My dog is around 3 years old (or at least we think he is, as he is a rescued dog) and he still acts like a puppy. He learns well and is a real sweetheart, but he has a little piddle problem.... Okay, a big problem. When we get home and he is out of his crate, he pees when he sees us. I've read up on submissive peeing, and I'm pretty sure that's what this is, but the remedy for it won't work with him because he's all over the place with excitement. I've read to ignore the dog until he is able to calm down and approach you himself, but my dog jumps on us and gets too excited to listen to anything, and by the time he's calmed down, he's already peed all over the floor. Can someone please help me with this unusual problem?? So far I've been able to train him well enough, but I have to say that this time I'm stumped! If anyone can help, please let me know.
Thanks!
Kyu
(P.S. Mood thing's not working, so place my mood at more distressed right now.)
